The City of Cannon Falls will be conducting door-to-door inspections to check water service lines to comply with the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requirements regarding Lead and Copper Rule Revisions (LCRR). This is a mandatory requirement and will continue until each service is identified. These inspections are for those properties that currently have an unknown service material.

The City’s engineering firm, WHKS & Co., will be assisting with the inspections, which will be performed at no cost to residents. WHKS staff will wear branded badges, apparel, and have vehicle decals. To verify their identity, please visit the website listed below for staff photos.

Customer Communication

Letters are being distributed the week of August 25th to all customers whose service status (on the customer side) is currently unknown. A sample of this letter is available for review on this page.

 Inspection Timeline

Inspections are currently scheduled for six days in Cannon Falls.  The first three dates are September 10th, 11th  and 15th.  The three additional dates will occur later in October.

Inspection Team

Our inspection team consists of Bret Baumbach, Eleanore Stang, and Dylan Schafer. When Cannon Falls is scheduled for inspection, two of these inspectors will be present. For more information about the inspection team, please visit https://waterserviceinventory.com/contact.html.

Door Sticky Notes

If our inspection team visits a house and there is no response, they will leave a sticky note on the door.  We will let our inspectors know to select what appears to be the most used door.  The sticky note will ask the customer to call City Hall.

The status of your property can be found at maps.umn.edu/LSL.
